Not answers about philosophy — philosophy practised.
Every exchange is grounded in the thinkers' own works: their arguments, their words, their quarrels. You enter the conversation the tradition has been having with itself for two and a half thousand years, and you take part in it.
Who runs it
Philosophy Arena is an independent project, run by one person in Germany. The legal details are in the Impressum, and every message to the contact address is read by that person.
What the texts are
The library holds the philosophers' own works, in editions and translations chosen for each. Every text is prepared before it goes in: editors' notes, prefaces and scanning errors are taken out, so what an answer draws on is the work itself. Each work has its own page in the Canon.
How answers are grounded
Answers are written by AI models. Before one is written, the library is searched for passages that bear on your question, and the answer is written from them. A claim drawn from a text carries a numbered citation that opens the passage itself, so you can check it. A model can still misread a passage: the passage, not the answer, is the authority.
What we never do
No tracking or advertising cookies, and no visitor data sold or shared with advertisers. Your conversations are not used to train AI models.
